Permits

We believe the HarborHoist to be one of the most environmentally friendly boat lifts on the market today.  All the components are non-corrosive and non-polluting, harmful bottom paint is no longer required with a boat lift, extra chemical filled pilings that disturb the bottom floor are not required, and the lift allows for plenty of water flow and ultraviolet rays.  Installation of the HarborHoist Floating Boat Lift simply requires moving your boat out of its slip, moving the boat lift in, tying it to your dock, and subsequently placing your boat on the boat lift where it is safely docked and dry.  Despite this environmentally sound solution to reducing the amount of pollutants in the water as well as keeping your boat dry, in nearly all bodies of water,  a permit is still required.   Regulations, permitting procedures and laws vary among cities, counties, states, and different bodies of water.  While many rivers and lakes do not require permits, nearly every area along the coast does.   Float Lifts of the Carolinas requires every customer to examine their local requirements before installing their new lift.   If you are in NC, please contact the CAMA division of NC Department of  Environmental Quality.  In all other locations, please contact your local county permit office on how to proceed.
